Two esteemed NAFA members received the Chapter Service Award at this year's Chapter Recognition Luncheon, which occurred on April 8 at NAFA's 2014 I&E, Minneapolis, MN.
To be selected for a NAFA Chapter Service Award, a Member or Affiliate must be nominated in writing by their Chapter Board or a NAFA Officer or Trustee.
This year's winners are:
Sherry Calkins, Regional Sales Manager, SambaSafety; Tri-State Chapter (Affiliate). Sherry has been an Affiliate with NAFA for 15 years and has been involved with fleet for 17 years. During 2013, she has devoted time, effort, and management to her chapter as Secretary.
When the chapter lost both Chair and Vice Chair, Sherry stepped forward and kept the chapter going for close to three quarters of the year -- whether that meant scheduling meetings and speakers, or planning venues and lunch details.
She also worked closely with the new Chapter chair to fill the Vice Chair position from a list of interested members. Sherry continues to be a tremendous help and a great resource, leader, and team member to the Chapter’s officers.
Cal Kretsinger, CAFM; General Executive, Emission Control Commodities and Fuel Business Development at Ameren Energy Fuels and Services; St. Louis Gateway Chapter (Member).
Cal has been a Member of NAFA for thirteen years and has been involved in fleet management for 42 years. He has served on both the Chapter and National levels of NAFA, including positions as the Chapter’s Chair, Vice Chair, and Treasurer, as well as Chair of many chapter committees. Cal has also served, on national level, as Chair of the I&E Curriculum Committee.
When chapter bank balances were becoming uncomfortably small, Cal worked tirelessly to expand chapter membership, to increase and enhance the quality of meeting presentations, and introduced the "affiliate sponsorship" program to the chapter.
Thank you, Cal and Sherry, for your tremendous example and efforts in your respective chapters!
