It Takes a Driver to be Safe
Wednesday, April 26, 2017
Forward crash warning, automatic braking, and lane departure warning are examples of safety technology that is now standard equipment in today’s vehicles. This is terrific! We should embrace anything that works towards the goal of eliminating crashes.
However, will this technology lead to drivers becoming complacent? If a driver knows that the vehicle will provide a warning of an impending crash, and will brake automatically, does that driver then tailgate and become less focused on the task of driving? We must guard against becoming so dependent on technology that we fail to practice proper safer driving techniques.
You will learn:
1. Learn solutions that will keep drivers from becoming distracted, unsafe, and even lazy behind the wheel.
2. Improve the overall safety of your fleet, while embracing telematics.
