The Annual Business Meeting at I&E is traditionally the session where NAFA leaders let members and attendees know about all the great things NAFA did the previous year, and offer a glimpse of the Association's future direction. The April 25 meeting was no different.

As an official act of the Annual Business Meeting, President Bryan Flansburg, CAFM^®, introduced the leaders who have volunteered to steer NAFA forward in 2017/2018, as well as individuals leaving the Board. NAFA thanks them for their service and contributions.

During the Annual Business Meeting on Tuesday morning, NAFA President Bryan Flansburg, CAFM^®, took a moment to honor two individuals who have brought far more than time and effort to their roles within the Association: Joe LaRosa and Ron Lasman. NAFA thanks these two gentlemen for everything they have brought to our Association, and look forward to continuing for many years to come!

I&E attendees heard directly from the CEOs of each of the major fleet management companies as they discussed what they see coming in the near future with automotive, fleet, and technology!

On the third day of NAFA's Institute & Expo, Tom C. Johnson, Founder of The 100 Best Fleets announced the rankings for 2017. Each year, The 100 Best Fleets organization brings their award announcement to appreciative I&E attendees, and 2017 was no exception!

NAFA salutes those who have put in the utmost effort and commitment into achieving the CAFM^®, the fleet profession standard. In 2016-2017, 39 fleet professionals successfully completed the eight disciplines necessary to earn a CAFM^® designation, 18 of whom were able to be with us. Give a hand to those who achieved the CAFS^® and are on their way to earning their CAFM^®!

On April 26, Hayden Gallagher of Ferris State University was awarded the NAFA Foundation's 2017 Willard DaSilva Student Scholarship. The Scholarship recipient was determined by the NAFA Foundation and was presented by NAFA Foundation President Tom Lubas.

The excitement and energy was non-stop on the I&E Expo floor as attendees learned about new products and services, bold innovations, and shared new ideas -- and won prizes, too! While photos won't do justice to recalling this phenomenal Expo event, it should encourage you to join us in Anaheim, CA in 2018, when we do it again!

NAFA's Chapter Appreciation Luncheon had extra meaning this year as the Association continues to celebrate its 60th anniversary. But as always, this event was also a terrific way to share ideas with chapter peers and colleagues!

One of the highlights of NAFA’s annual conference each year is the Chapter Appreciation Luncheon. It’s a time to relax, network with colleagues, and have fun with fellow fleet professionals within their NAFA Chapter. It’s also a time in which NAFA highlights the work of one NAFA Regular Member and one Associate Member for their tremendous efforts in supporting their local chapter.
