Well into its beta-phase of testing, NAFA’s Sustainable Fleet Standard Program is a self-assessment tool that helps fleets measure and track accomplishments -- and provides recognition for those accomplishments -- based on NAFA’s definition.

Convening at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minneapolis, MN, NAFA President Claude Masters, CAFM, announced the formation of NAFA's Government Affairs Committee, a unit that will become the preeminent voice for fleet to the halls of legislative influence.

Excitement abounded on Tuesday evening of I&E as the winners of the 2014 FLEXY Awards ascended the stage and claimed their awards. The FLEXYs are open to all fleet professionals, regardless of whether or not they were members of NAFA Fleet Management Association.

Two esteemed NAFA members, Sherry Calkins and Cal Kretsinger, CAFM, received the Chapter Service Award at NAFA's 2014 I&E, Minneapolis, MN. We wish them congratulations and thanks for their service to their respective chapters!

The second OEM Fireside Chat discussion brought together NAFA President Claude Masters, CAFM and top executives from Chrysler, Ford, GM, and Toyota in a conversation based upon questions submitted by NAFA members in early-2014.

City of Minneapolis Fleet Manager Al Thunberg, CAFM, put in the hard work, time, and effort required to learn the CAFM curriculum. At the 2014 I&E, he passed all eight modules -- just prior to the opening of the 2014 I&E. We asked Al how he studied in order to make it happen.

NAFA's I&E regularly features keynote presentations that not only challenge the fleet professional, but the person within the profession, and the 2014 conference proved to be the most striking evidence yet of this. Authors Simon Sinek and Peter Sheahan provided engaging, animated, and thought-provoking concepts that dared attendees to think differently.

Again and again, I&E attendees have said the 2014 roster of sessions was the most informative, most education-packed curriculum yet. Taking advantage of two opportunities to go to the GE Vehicle Innovation Center in Eden Prairie, registered attendees got to experience first-hand some of the bold technologies that are changing what and how we drive.

NAFA wasn't kidding. The 2014 I&E was the preeminent networking experience in fleet. From the Alt Fuels Experience to the Happy Hour, from the Opening Night Party to Networking Reception, and all stops in between, attendees talked, exchanged ideas and many business cards, and had a lot of fun, too.

NAFA will be hosting the fourth Annual International Fleet Academy July 14-16 at the beautiful Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Florida. This is the perfect opportunity for fleet professionals to learn the intricacies of developing and implementing fleet policies across the globe.
