NAFA Member David Seavey, CAFM, and the City of Seattle were chosen as the top Green Fleet in North America during the Green Fleet Conference in San Diego last October.   Seavey, the City's Fleet Manager, received an award and a check for $1,000 by Tom Johnson, author of the 100 Best Fleets program.

The annual Government Green Fleet Award is open to all federal, state, and local government fleets in North America.  Evaluation standards are divided into the following categories: fleet composition, fuel and emissions, policy and planning, fleet utilization, education, executive and employee involvement, and supporting programs.

Seavey, who joined NAFA Fleet Management Association in 2004, continues the proud tradition of award-winning fleet managers within the Association.

"NAFA is always proud when one of our Members receives a national award," said the Association's Executive Director, Phillip E. Russo, CAE. "Sustainability is one of the most important aspects of fleet management in the industry today.  NAFA congratulates David Seavey on a well-deserved honor and salutes him for his efforts to improve the environment."

The judges for this year's Government Green Fleet Award included Courtney Bozic from Clean Cities New York;  and David Mills, former Fleet Supervisor for the City of Oceanside, CA; and NAFA Member Paul Condran, Fleet Manager for the City of Culver City, CA and last year's Green Fleet award winner.
