NAFA Member Frank Castro, CAFM Retires From Tacoma After 30 Years And Joins Snohomish County Public Utility District #1

NAFA Member Frank Castro, CAFM, recently retired from City of Tacoma /Tacoma Public Utilities Fleet Services after a 30-year career and was named Transportation Manager for Snohomish County Public Utility District #1 in Everett, WA.
Government Fleet magazine noted, "During his career at Tacoma Public Utilities (TPU), Castro directed fleet operations activities, including acquisition, maintenance, replacement and disposition. His major accomplishments at TPU included the successful deployment of advanced technology, including plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, automated pool vehicle management systems, and automated vehicle location systems integrating with several work management applications resulting in efficiencies and improved customer service for Tacoma Power. TPU Fleet Services was awarded approximately $640,000 for various clean vehicle grant projects in 2009/2010. TPU Fleet Services was also recognized as a Top 100 Fleet by Government Fleet magazine in 2009." |
