NAFA's NorCal-Northern Nevada Chapter co-sponsored the 2011 Plug-in and Electric Vehicle Showcase at the Napa Valley Expo on February 17 with the East Bay Clean Cities Coalition. The conference was a complete success with more than 200 attendees, and representation from all of the major electric vehicle providers including GM, Nissan, and Toyota. Many of the major EV charging equipment suppliers displayed their products and made presentations during the conference as well.
NAFA Members Richard E. Battersby, CAFM, Director of Fleet Services for UC Davis and Chapter Chair Chris Burgeson, CAFM, Fleet Manager for the City of NAPA, helped to organize the event.
Although the conference was created mainly for fleet managers and business decision makers to help promote plug-in and electric vehicles, the nature of the event and rising gas prices helped attract many consumers as well.
Manufacturers who made presentations included Altec Industries, Coda Automotive, Ford/Azure Dynamics, General Motors, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, and Toyota. Presentations were also made by EV charging station manufacturers such as AeroVironment, Clipper Creek, Coulomb Technologies, and General Electric.
This event continues the growing relationship between NAFA and Clean Cities Coalition. |
