NAFA is currently conducting a survey written by the FleetED Advisory Council in an effort to zero in on the definition and industry-wide perception of distracted driving.
Distracted driving has been defined by the Traffic Injury Research Foundation (TIRF) as "Distraction involves a diversion of attention from driving because the driver is temporarily focused on an object, person, task, or event not related to driving, which reduces the driver's awareness, decision-making, and/or performance, leading to an increased risk of corrective action, near-crashes, or crashes."
The survey, which is largely comprised of multiple choice answers and should take under ten minutes to complete, is currently open and will accept participation until Friday, June 24.
More than 275 NAFA Members have already weighed in on this important topic. If you have not already taken the survey, you may do so by clicking here.
Results of the survey will be presented in the September/October 2011 issue of FLEETSolutions magazine.
