Car and Driver magazine has named the 2012 Honda Accord 4-cylinder and the 2012 Honda Fit as two winners of its annual "Ten Best Cars" award. Now in its eighth generation, the Accord has achieved this twenty-six times in thirty years; more than any other vehicle in the award's history. The Honda Fit has been honored with this status in each of the six years that it has been on sale in the United States.

"Honda is honored to again have two of our vehicles included among the best of the best," said John Mendel, Executive Vice President of American Honda Motor Co., Inc.

The Fit has been sold in the U.S. since the 2007 model year and is manufactured in Sayama, Japan. The Accord has been sold in the U.S. since the 1976 model year and has been manufactured in Marysville, Ohio since 1982.

The 2012 Mazda MX-5 Miata has also been named to the list, its seventh year in a row and thirteenth overall since the two-seat roadster made its global debut in 1989.  The convertible is a favorite among daily drivers and weekend road racers alike, and, as proven by its frequent appearance on the magazine's annual top-ten list, has captured the hearts of automotive critics.

According to Car and Driver, "Here was an affordable roadster without drawback, a compact slingshot more fun than many cars costing twice as much."  The MX-5 first landed a spot on the list in 1990 – its first model year – and has been a regular ever since.

The third-generation MX-5 is powered by an MZR 2.0-liter engine, which produces up to 167 horsepower and delivers 140 lb-ft of torque.
