General Motors has recently confirmed that a new generation of the popular Chevrolet Impala will hit the market, and the vehicle will be made at the Oshawa Assembly Plant in Canada.

"With the investments for the Chevrolet Impala and Cadillac XTS, we are taking big steps forward to ensure we maximize the flexible manufacturing facility and high-quality workforce that exist in Oshawa", said the President and Managing Director of General Motors Canada, Kevin Williams. "We are building on the recent capacity increases, product launches, and shift additions at our Canadian operations to affirm that Canada will play an important role in the new GM as we continue to transform our product lineup", added Williams.

Chevrolet didn’t announce anything official about when the new generation of the Impala will hit the market. As a reminder, the Chevy Impala is a full-size automobile first introduced in 1958 model year and through 1965, the model became the best-selling vehicle in the United States, competing against the Plymouth Fury and the Ford Galaxie 500. The ninth generation of the Impala has been in production since 2005 and the model is being assembled at Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, coming in a single body style, four-door sedan, and with a choice of four engines and three transmissions.
