The work-life of every seasoned fleet professional has experienced it at one time or another -- the thing that no one planned for, not even themselves. NAFA members have been asking for a seminar situation that speaks directly to that segment which already knows the ropes, has practiced in the industry for many years, and faces challenges unique to their advanced knowledge. That seminar situation is NAFA's Masters Fleet Management Seminar, occurring June 8-10, at the Minneapolis Marriott City Center (30 South 7th Street, Minneapolis, MN).
All-new, NAFA's Masters Seminar will challenge seasoned fleet professionals with more than five years' experience to apply the knowledge they have gained through practical experience and/or the CAFM/CAFS programs over the years. Attendees will manage a fictitious fleet and resolve a series of practical exercises and common fleet situations. This fully-immersive approach promises to put members of fleet right in the middle of a work experience, with all the options and consequences that can bring, adding context that will relate to Public and Corporate fleet managers alike, as well as affiliates.
Three key parts to this seminar are:
- Informative Presentations - These have been selected and organized not only to get participants up to speed, but to put them right in place for their training exrecises. They include a NAFA Education primer; Conducting Case Studies; an Overview for Vehicle Selector Lists; a Fleet Profile of Your Hypothetical Company; Selection of an Information Management (IM) System; Requests for Proposals (RFP) and Bid Evaluations; Maintenance Staffing and Vehicle Equivalency Units (VEUs); Risk Management Processes; and Ethical Decision-Making.
- Realistic Exercises - The mainspring of the seminar, these exercises are designed to put you right in the seat of a fictitious company working out an advanced fleet-related scenario. The exercises include Selecting the Right Vehicle; Evaluating Proposals for a Fleet Information Management System (FIMS); Calculating VEUs and Staffing Requirements; Recommending Risk Mitigation Strategies; and Making Ethical Decisions.
- More Than 130 Years Combined of Fleet Industry Experience - Your instructors for this seminar have the advanced knowledge of real-world fleet issues on their side, and they will guide attendees through every step. They include Kate Vigneau, CAFM (20 years - Logistics and Fleet Experience, Excellence in Education Award winner for 2010); Patti Earley, CAFM (30+ years - Fleet Experience, Excellence in Education Award winner 2011); Ray Brisby, CAFM (24+ years - Maintenance and Fleet Experience, Instructor for NAFA's CAFM/CAFS Maintenance Management Webinar); Ruth Alfson, CAFM (22+ years - Fleet Experience, Excellence in Education Award winner 2006); and Bryan Flansburg, CAFM (28 years - Fleet Experience, 2011 Goill Award winner).
This is a great opportunity for those looking for advanced studies and higher learning! If you've ever asked yourself if you've reached your fleet education plateau, this seminar has arrived to take you one step further.
