Chrysler Recalling Nearly 120,000 Vehicles

Chrysler has announced the recall of nearly 120,000 Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger sedans for an electrical fault. The recall covers vehicles produced for the 2011 and 2012 model year.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the sedans’ power distribution center is prone to overheating, which could cause the ABS and electronic stability control systems to fail. If overheating occurs, it could increase the likelihood of a crash.

Chrysler will remedy the problem by relocating the ABS/ESC system fuse. Chrysler will begin the recall campaign, which includes 119,072 vehicles, later this month. Owners can take their cars to a Chrysler dealership, where they will place a new fuse in a new location where it won't overheat. Chrysler said it is notifying owners who are affected, and the repair will be free of charge.
