The outpouring of love and support NAFA has received for its Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts is nothing short of overwhelming.
During the week of November 5, NAFA Executive Director Phillip E. Russo, CAE notified the Board of Governors that NAFA would be making a donation to help the Hurricane victims. In line with past donations, NAFA would be donating $100 on behalf of every chapter, for a total of $3,200, to two funds in New Jersey and New York. One week later the contribution doubled as the Association's chapters and partners have joined the effort.
The Ontario Chapter and the Wisconsin Chapter have each generously donated $1,000 to this effort, as has our friends at FLAGFA. The St. Louis Gateway Chapter, Western Canada Chapter, and Mid-West Chapter each donated $500, while the South Central Chapter contributed $300. The Puget Sound Chapter, Sunshine State Chapter, and New Jersey Chapter each donated $100; an offering made all the more poignant amid the difficult financial climate of the times. In addition, NAFA's publishing partner Naylor will be making a contribution in the Association's name to help victims in New Jersey. The total contribution will be $8,300!
The Association will mailed checks to the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund and the Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City on November 27, with special instructions that the funds are to be used solely for hurricane victims. A letter informing recipients of these checks about who NAFA is and where the funds have come from was also included.
