Call For Materials: NAFA's Fleet Safety Advisory Council Begins Work On "How To Develop A Fleet Safety Program" Project

NAFA's Fleet Safety Advisory Council is developing a project called "How To Develop A Fleet Safety Program," a great new effort that was spurred on by the thought-provoking Keynote Speech given by National Safety Council CEO Janet Froetscher at this year's I&E.

To make this work in the best manner possible, the Fleet Safety Advisory Council is requesting your help. They would like to include sample safety policies to put the program together. They will also be posted to the FSAC webpage.

The FSAC would also be interested in examples of results contributors might have measured (e.g. reduction in accident rates, lower crash repair costs, liability settlements, etc.), as well as any horror stories (excess liability settlements, punitive damages, etc.) for companies that did not have an adequate program in place. This information would be valuable as illustration of why risk management and a culture of safety in the workplace are so important, especially today.

Because of the sensitive nature of these policies, all references and indications of the companies the material came from will be removed for these purposes prior to publication/distribution of any kind. The overall goal of this initiative is to help organizations starting or building upon their safety efforts by showing examples of actual policies, in use, and working for their intended purposes.

Please submit materials by June 15 to Deputy Executive Director Patrick McCarren at: pmccarren@nafa.org
