In Memoriam: James (JR) Kulesa, CAFM (1962-2013)

It is with great sadness that NAFA announced the passing of James "JR" Kulesa, CAFM. He was the Fleet Operations Manager for the Fleet Management Division of Palm Beach County, as well as a longtime Sunshine State Chapter Member. He was 51.

In a message sent from Immediate Past President Douglas Weichman, CAFM, "JR was a wonderful person and dedicated employee who touched the lives of many people. In July of 1995, JR began his employment at the Fleet Management Division in the position of Automotive Technician II. Through the years, JR worked his way up through the ranks into his final position as Shop Operations Supervisor.

"JR’s fight against cancer lasted over the past nine years. Those who knew him said they have never seen a person remain so strong when faced with such a big challenge. He never complained and always had an amazingly positive attitude.

"JR will be missed by all," Weichman concluded.

JR’s family has said he had requested no formal ceremony be held and he wished to be cremated. Further, JR wanted a party/barbecue to celebrate his life. The details will be planned and passed along to those who would like to attend within the next few weeks.
