On October 3, the NAFA Tri-State and Great Lakes Chapters hosted a joint Fall Educational Seminar at Levis Commons, Perrysburg (Toledo), OH. The two chapters have been offering this educational day to fleet managers for several years offering useable information with great take-away material, allowing an avenue to network and talk with fellow fleet-minded folks from other chapters.
The full day seminar consisted of:
- Taylor Steinberg, Knapheide, spoke about fuel management with CNG, LPG, and other alternative fuels
- Rich Crawford, SAMBASafety spoke about safety issues relating to driver risk management, and how to minimize those risks
- Todd Hendrick, Corporate Compliance Officer for ERG Environmental Services spoke about waste management for fleet owners
- Lease vs. Buy Panel: Fleet Manager and Lease Experts Give Their Take -- The speakers for this presentation were Bob Mossing with Washtenaw County, MI; Mike Slevin, Sutton Leasing; and Brian Defoney with ARI
- Brian Swartout and Jeff Tolford from Adrian Steel spoke about latest trends in the upfitting industry
- Matt Betz with CRSFleet, spoke about personal use
Rob Sizemore said, "As the fairly new Chapter Chair, I was pleased to hear from members of both chapters that they were pleased with the topics, presenters, and the ideal of the two chapters coming together to put on this Fall Education Seminar. Thanks to all the members of both chapters for all their work in making this meeting a great success."
With the great feedback the chapters have received, going forward, they intend to host two events per year to allow this level of information and education to their members in a single-day session.
Special thanks to Sherry Calkins, SAMBASafety Regional Sales Manager, for material in this article. |
