It has been a very busy fall season so far for the Greater Pittsburgh Chapter, with two important and information-packed meetings, the annual Ride 'n Drive and the always important safety session, separated by the Board of Governors session in Phoenix, AZ.

Chapter Chair Tracy R. McCann, Manager Global Fleet Services, Mylan Inc.; Vice Chair Dave Lynn, CAFM, Equipment Service Manager, Penn Line Service; and Treasurer Sharon Levosky, Supervisor, Administrative Services, Giant Eagle Supermarkets, shared photos from the two events.

The Chapter's annual safety meeting on Friday, November 1, held at the global office of Mylan Inc., Canonsburg, PA, focused in on perhaps one of the most pressing issues concerning all driving-related industries today, distracted driving and driver safety.

Aaron Rensel, Health and Safety, Giant Eagle/Talon Logistics, offered an excellent presentation entitled, "Get the Big Picture on Fleet Safety." Afterward, attendees held a fleet round table discussion around current issues and safety-related topics impacting drivers, fleet managers, and the business world.

The Greater Pittsburgh Chapter got a look at what is new for next year's I&E, and also viewed a video highlighting the points of interest in Minneapolis. All in all, no matter what chapter you are a member of, the information, networking, and fun of spending the day with fleet peers makes attending these meetings a vital part of being a NAFA member!

The Greater Pittsburgh NAFA Chapter held its annual Ride 'n Drive on Friday, September 20, at the Butler Manheim Auto Auction location, in Cranberry Twp., PA. Although early cloud cover threatened to dampen the event, the weather wound up being kind and the proceedings went off without a hitch. A great day was had by all.
