Photo Gallery: NAFA's Wisconsin Chapter Welcome The Holidays And New Members

The Wisconsin Chapter held its annual Holiday Dinner Meeting on November 19 at the Western Lakes Golf Club. The weather outside may have been too cold for golf, but the atmosphere inside was warm and inviting.

 Ryan Dicken, Midwest Regional Sales Manager for the CEI Group, Inc. captivated the 40 fleet professionals gathered there. Ryan's presentation was on how to "Impact Driver Safety Through Micro-Targeting."

He not only offered a timely and thought provoking PowerPoint presentation, but shared real life events and situations. Then with the audience still energized from his presentation he opened it up for an extended question and answer session.

According to Chapter Member Tom Krause, "The main topic of the Q&A revolved around enforcement of the No Phone/Texting policy by the driver while operating a company vehicle. It is a policy for many fleets, but one that often times is loosely enforced. Some very good minds chimed in, but the ultimate solution was still elusive.

"Until the OEMs integrate ignition-activated devices to block all phone technology (not just those that are synced to a single phone, taking into account business phones but not personal phones), there will always be those that think the problem is with the other driver’s skill and not their ability to multitask."

Before concluding the meeting portion, two new members attending their first NAFA meeting, Mike Kelliher, Material and Fleet Director at Pieper Electric, Inc.; and Anne Morrison, Compliance Specialist at Mead & Hunt, were both warmly welcomed by their peers and (soon to be) friends.

What followed can best be described as a feast fit for royalty. The evening was a resounding success as peers and friends gathered together for a holiday celebration the NAFA way.
