City of Granby joins The Electric Circuit
Les Rôtisseries St-Hubert, RONA, METRO, the Agence métropolitaine de transport and Hydro-Québec – the founding partners of the Electric Circuit – have announced the signing of a new partnership agreement with the city of Granby. The new agreement solidifies the installation of a first public charging station for electric vehicles.
Granby Mayor Pascal Bonin announced that the charging station is located in city hall’s du Millénaire parking lot and is up and running and ready for use by drivers of plug-in electric vehicles. Mayor Bonin also highlighted the city’s goal to take solid actions to improve the environment and this is an important step in reaching that goal.
The Electric Circuit is the largest public charging network in Québec and plays a vital role in the overall rollout of charging infrastructure needed to support plug-in vehicles in Québec. First launched in March 2012, the initiative now has 53 private and institutional partners and will continue to expand in order to serve move electric vehicle drivers across the province.
