City of Sorel-Tracy Launches New Charging Stations for Electric Vehicles

Two new public charging stations for electric vehicles are now available for use by residents and visitors to the city of Sorel-Tracy. Announced by the founding partners of the Electric Circuit - Les Rôtisseries St-Hubert, RONA, METRO, the Agence métropolitaine de transport (AMT), and Hydro-Québec – the new stations are located at the St-Hubert restaurant and at Chalifoux dairy, both on boulevard Fiset.

Quebec Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Pierre Arcand welcomed the latest initiative, praising local businesses who are promoting clean and sustainable transportation in the region. Minister Arcand also reiterated the government’s commitment to transportation electrification and green initiatives.

With the new public charging station at the St-Hubert restaurant in Sorel-Tracy, this now brings the number of charging stations available in the St-Hubert network to 23. Chalifoux dairy is the first company in the agri-food industry to join the Electric Circuit.

Speaking on behalf of the founding partners of the Electric Circuit, Hydro-Québec’s Pierre-Luc Desgagné welcomed the new stations, highlighting that they will continue to help promote the arrival of plug-in electric vehicles in the region.

The Electric Circuit is the largest public charging network in Québec, with more than 250 Level 2 (240-V) charging stations and one fast-charge (400-V) station in operation in parking lots of the AMT, RONA stores, Metro grocery stores, and St-Hubert restaurants throughout Québec. Since its launch in March 2012, 64 private and institutional partners have joined the Electric Circuit, and it continues to expand.
