Nationwide Insurance To Enter New Jersey Auto Market

Nationwide Insurance President and Chief Operating Officer Mark Pizzi announced on June 6 that Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company will begin offering standard auto policies in New Jersey in August 2014.

Nationwide, headquartered in Columbus, OH, received from the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance approval to sell automobile insurance in New Jersey. The insurance provider will market these policies over the phone, over the Internet and through Nationwide agents in bordering states.

New Jersey is the eleventh most populated state with more than 3.2 million households. The company currently has 179 agencies authorized to write personal auto insurance in New Jersey.
