Hydro-Québec Research Institute and France Aquitaine Region Collaborate for Research and Development on Battery Materials

On July 7, Hydro-Québec research institute and the Regional Council of Aquitaine signed an agreement consisting of joining forces on battery materials regarding electric transportation technology. Energy efficiency is of great interest for industrialized countries, especially in the following fields:
  • Use of renewable energy
  • Rapid-charge networks for electric vehicles
  • Hybrid or electric vehicles for all means of transportation
  • Hybrid emergency power supply systems and generators
  • Smart buildings and large-scale connected systems
Hydro-Québec has been investing for many years in technologies to develop the efficiency and safety of electrochemical batteries and the Aquitaine Region over the last decade has been investing twelve percent of its budget to projects dedicated to research, innovation, and industrial development in electric mobility projects.
