The St. Louis Gateway Chapter's January meeting had a lot to accomplish before attendees moved on to the 2014 St. Louis Auto Show at the Americas Center. It began with networking at the Renaissance Grand Hotel, the host for the first stage of the meeting, just before members took to the process of electing chapter leadership for 2015. These dedicated fleet professionals will be:
Chapter Chair: Lisa Geringer, CAFM®
Chapter Vice-Chair: John Weber, CAFM®
Chapter Treasurer: Claudia Russell
Chapter Secretary: Chris Wenom
Membership Chair: Brandon Buse
During lunch, representatives from four automotive manufacturers presented their specific model year updates. Each presentation highlighted the safety features, interior, exterior, and engine upgrades as well as their benefits as they pertain to a fleet perspective. The presenters were:
Pam Mooney, Ford Motor Corporation
Mark Watson, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles
Ron Mealman, General Motors Company
Mike Peterson, Volkswagen
From there, ir was on to the largest automobile event in the St. Louis area, featuring more than 500 new cars, trucks, SUVs, and luxury vehicles from over 25 manufacturers all under one roof. The main features included a drifting with Vaughn Gitten Jr.; "Aftermarket Alley," which highlighted aftermarket add-ons for vehicles; a charity party with country stars Big & Rich; the Chrysler drive opportunity; the Toyota "Drive Center"; the Ford F150 Ride and Drive; the Million Dollar Mile, which featured some of the most expensive vehicles out there; and much, much more.
Thanks as always to attendees and members who make these meetings so worthwhile, the staff of the Renaissance for being so accommodating and helpful, and to our corporate sponsors who help us put it all together. They are:
Gold Level: ARI Fleet, CEI Network, FCA, Fleet Response, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, LeasePlan, Midwest BioDiesel, Missouri Auto Auction, and Toyota.
Silver Level: BMW, Pep Boys, and Wheels.
Bronze Level: Element Financial Corporation
