NAFA's Mid-West Chapter Meeting held their Manufacturer’s New Product Preview on June 9, at the Farm Bureau in West Des Moines, IA.
The manufacturers representatives gave their model year previews with a major emphasis on the new safety technologies the car companies are rolling out. The Mid-West Chapter thanks the following for their information (listed in order of presentation):
- Randy Dusek, Regional Account Executive, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles
- Michael Boldt, Fleet Account Executive, General Motors
- Sharon Trapp, Fleet Field Manager, Toyota
- Martin Kopera, National Account Manager, Ford
- Mark Cummings, Manager, National Commercial Fleet Accounts, Subaru
- Ross Friedmann, Manager – Commercial Sales, Hyundai Motor America
There also was chapter business to attend to. Chapter Chair Nanette Schmidt, CAFM®, reminded the chapter members that the funds from the annual golf outing were going toward bettering the chapter through scholarship programs, educational programs, and the like.
She asked the chapter what ideas we had if any to boost membership and meeting attendance. Some ideas given included:
- Increase scholarship dollar amounts or number of them
- Pay dues and membership for retirees
- Pay memberships/dues for someone between jobs
- Pay memberships/dues for someone interested in NAFA but not currently in the fleet field
- Provide educational programs
- Non-profit donation
Special thanks to Stacey Kroeger, Midwest Chapter Secretary, for material in this article.
