An afternoon at the Brazilian steakhouse is not at all a bad way to end the year! And if you add a bit of charitable spirit to the event, it only makes the day that much sweeter. On Tuesday, December 8, NAFA's Mid-America Chapter hosted their annual holiday luncheon at Fogo de Chão, taking in the smells and the tastes, and getting reacquainted with peers.

"We chose Ronald McDonald House as our charity this year," said Emily Cope. "Chapter members donated all kinds of household items and supplies, as well as made a monetary donation to Ronald McDonald House of Kansas City."

Ronald McDonald House Charities provide temporary lodging to thousands of families every year who must travel to receive medical treatment for a sick or injured child. "As you can imagine, it takes a lot to make a Ronald McDonald House feel like a 'home away from home'," Cope said. "To provide a loving, caring and supportive environment, they rely on the generous donations from our community."

The food was wonderful and it was a nice time to celebrate the holidays and network with colleagues and NAFA friends. And yet, it is important to remember the good work done by charities, during the holidays and otherwise. If you have considered supporting a charity that hosts vehicle donation, now is a great time to do it. Ronald McDonald Charities will pick up your donation of a car or truck free of charge and you will help the families of hospitalized and seriously ill children.
