Auto Show Season is officially here! The North American International Auto Show recently wrapped up in Detroit, the Philadelphia Auto Show just concluded February 7, and in just over one month, the New York International Auto Show will roll into Midtown Manhattan.
So what better place for NAFA's Southwest Chapter to meet than the Houston Auto Show in Houston, TX? With over 700,000 square feet of the latest vehicles from the world’s top automakers, the Houston Auto Show has brought the automotive world to Texas, allowing consumers and NAFA members alike to see, touch, drive, and experience the industry’s latest and greatest offerings. But first, some business was in order.
The January 28 meeting of NAFA's Southwest Chapter took place at NRG Park, just prior to hitting the show floor. After Chapter Chair Amy McAdams, CAFM
®, called the meeting to order and introductions were made, members discussed a wide variety of topics, including the election of new Chapter Board members this March, as well as an introduction into NAFA's CAFM
®/S certification programs. The meeting also included vehicle presentations from Audi, Volkswagen, Toyota, Ford, and General Motors. Prior to the end of the meeting, members discussed plans for the chapter's next gathering, which will include a tour of the Toyota plant in San Antonio!
One other key topic from this meeting was the chapter's need for volunteers, either for full terms, or on an event-by-event basis. Each Chapter Board is currently in need of a Chair and anyone who is able to volunteer their time would be greatly appreciated. The leadership of the Southwest Chapter thanks everyone who attended for making it such an informative and engaging event.
Special thanks to Chapter Chair Amy McAdams, CAFM®, for information in this article.
