Art Liggio, President/CEO of Driving Dynamics, Inc., has been appointed Vice Chair of the Affiliates Committee. He joins Committee Chair Carlos Oropeza, Donlen; and Trustee-Affiliate Robert Martines, Corporate Claims Management in steering this important wing of NAFA leadership. With the recently approved changes to NAFA's bylaws, these three gentlemen will help chart an unprecedented course for products/service providers in the Association.

"As a longtime member, I'm very excited to have the opportunity to work with NAFA in this capacity," Art said shortly after the announcement was made. "Especially under these circumstances, Affiliates will have a stronger, official voice in the Association moving forward, so this is a great time to become involved at such a level."

Art's company offers driver training programs and risk management/risk mitigation services. Art has been a valued contributor to several articles in NAFA's FLEETSolutions magazine. He is frequently involved with both the New Jersey and Philadelphia Chapters, and that is where he has supported promising efforts.

"I would like to identify ways in which the Affiliates Committee can encourage fleet managers to have greater presence and involvement in NAFA, particularly at meetings and events," Art said. "Today’s corporate culture places great demands on the immediate needs of the organization and this certainly affects fleet managers as well. With all they are doing for their employers, there's very little time afforded to them beyond that.

"Since we, as Affiliates, get to talk to their leadership quite often, this could be an area where our committee can provide a positive influence: to share with them the value of having fleet management actively engaged in NAFA for the long-term value and health of its fleet operation. That's a focus I would like to see the Affiliates Committee engage in...discovering ways to encourage and enable greater participation."

The recognized representation of Affiliates (Associate Members) to the NAFA organization, this Committee serves to reaffirm that products/services providers will be recognized as a source of information that will help fleet managers develop solutions to challenges faced in the operation of their fleets. Further, the Committee encourages the professionalism of all products/service provider interaction with NAFA Members and at NAFA functions. The Affiliate Committee will encourage involvement and support of NAFA at the local and national levels, will endeavor to recruit professionals for NAFA as Members and Affiliates (Associate Members), and will act as a communications conduit for Affiliates (Associate Members) needs and concerns.
