NAFA's South Central Chapter convened at Element Fleet Management's headquarters on October 13. The topics of discussion were "FASB rule changes" and "Weighing the advantages and disadvantages with lease vs. buy."
How do leasing and owning affect the accounting balance sheet? Is leasing an option for city and governmental fleets? Further, lease types such as operating and finance were considered, along with the tax advantages that might be gained or lost from either method.
"We also discussed future meeting topics and activities," said Chapter Chair Bill Sterner, CAFM®/CEM. "We are planning our next meeting for December 1 at the Fort Worth Convention Center, which we will co-locate with the Dallas-Fort Worth Auto Show."
