On Tuesday, November 15, NAFA's Wisconsin Chapter held their Holiday Meeting at Western Lakes Golf Club in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.
The topic for the education portion of the event was, "Changing Habits, Reducing Accidents." The presenter was Jerry Veres, Certified Director of Safety, Certified OSHA Instructor and Safety Program Coordinator at FleetResponse. This presentation focused on how accidents usually occur due to a change in behavior or in overall work environment. Veres stated that professional drivers need to build good habits in order to build proper muscle memory. This assists in defensive driving and preparedness, and can bridge the gaps that occur cognitively when environmental changes throw curve balls into routines. After the presentation, Chapter members stayed for dinner, networking, and socializing.
