To: NAFA Members
We need your help to urge Congress to extend the alternative fuels and biodiesel tax credits, which cut the costs of operating a fleet and reduce harmful environmental impacts. Unfortunately, these tax credits expired at the end of 2017. We now have a critical window of opportunity to push Congress to extend these credits through 2022.
With your support, we are hopeful that Congress will act on the following alternative fuels tax credits and biodiesel before the year ends:
- $0.50 per gallon alternative fuel tax credit for compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane autogas, and other alternative transportation fuel
- $1.00 per gallon tax credit for biodiesel
- 30 percent alternative fuel infrastructure tax credit
As a fleet manager, you have the unique ability to let the legislators working for you in Washington, D.C. know about the difference these tax credits can have on your bottom-line and even more importantly your ability to continue to provide valuable jobs and services to their constituents.
