Your Membership Is Getting More Valuable
The First Word with NAFA CEO Phillip E. Russo, CAE
In just a few weeks, NAFA will launch a bold new program that will add tremendous value to your membership and give you resources never before available.
NAFA’s “Communities” program will be an online tool for you to access segment-specific programs and content, accelerate your networking among like-minded peers, and give you a stronger voice in NAFA.
Based on NAFA’s membership data and other relevant information, the first communities out of the gate will be:
- Associate Members
- Corporate Fleets
- Educational/University Fleets
- Government Fleets
- Multi-National Fleets
- Public Safety Fleets
- Utility & Telecomm Fleets
I want to thank the dedicated men and women who have accepted our invitations to lead these communities in their launch:
- Associate Members: Marianne Stewart, CAFM, Fleet Consultant
- Corporate Fleets: Mark Petersen, Fleet Manager – Americas, Getinge Group
- Educational/University Fleets: Mike Wilson, CAFM, Fleet Services Manager, University of Iowa
- Government Fleets: Nina Hoffert, CAFM, Fleet Manager, City of Lakewood, Colorado
- Public Safety Fleets: Jeffrey Hawthorne, CAFM, Fleet Manager, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office
(At the time of this publication, we have not confirmed leaders for the Multi-National Community or the Utility & Telecom Community. If you would be interested in helping with either of those groups, please contact me.)
NAFA’s Communities will be a rich resource available to you whenever and wherever you want. In addition to having crowd-sourced content and conversations in each community, NAFA will “seed” each community with content relevant to that group.
Every NAFA Regular Member and every NAFA Associate Member will be able join any community, regardless of their industry segment. You will be able to customize your experience in each community, including having the ability to sign up for alerts when new content is posted and, in the near future, when a specific topic is mentioned.
The idea of creating content for - and giving voice to - specific member segments is in line with NAFA’s long-standing ideology of being inclusive to every fleet sector. Fortunately, NAFA is uniquely positioned to serve the broadest and deepest fleet audience, as no other fleet association or organization has the diversity and quantity of fleet professionals as NAFA, nor the resources NAFA has to accomplish this initiative.
Enrollment in the communities will open during the 2019 Institute & Expo in Louisville. I invite you to visit the Communities webpage on www.nafa.org at that time and join the communities that interest you.
One of the greatest attributes of NAFA, and certainly one of the highest-valued benefits of membership, is the sense of community one feels when interacting with members. These communities will only make that attribute stronger and more valuable.
I look forward to engaging with you in our new communities!
Sincerely,
Phil
