Help A Fellow NAFA Member

Fellow NAFA Member and Director of Fleet and Surplus Property for the State of Utah, Margaret Chambers, is in need of your help.

Chambers was seriously injured in March while on vacation in Maui. A 10-foot wave crashed onto her, bursting two vertebrae, breaking four of her ribs, and rupturing her lung. The accident has left Chambers paralyzed from the waist down. On April 1, she underwent a 7-hour surgery to repair the damage to her spine. While the surgery went well and there's hope of her regaining the feeling in her legs, Chambers still faces a long road to recovery.

With your donations, Chambers has made it back to Utah and is currently being treated at the University of Utah hospital. She still has a long way to go, and is very thankful for your support.

A website developed by friends and colleagues of Chambers has been created to collect donations for expenses related to any rehabilitation or modifications to her home. If you would like to make a donation, please visit www.margaretchambers.org.

Chambers manages nearly 7,500 state-owned vehicles and the resale of state property as the director of Utah's state fleet operations and surplus property. She has been a NAFA Member since 2005 and served as a Member of both the I&E Curriculum Committee (2006-2007) and the I&E Arrangements Committee (2007-2008).
