NAFA Participates in Congressional Climate Change Briefing
On April 29, 2010, NAFA participated in an Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI) congressional briefing to examine the potential effects of pending energy and climate legislation on the transportation sector and U.S. dependence on oil. This briefing focused on the economic and environmental implications of alternative ways to reduce oil use and greenhouse gas emissions in the transportation sector and how key stakeholders are likely to respond. Speakers for this event included Patrick O'Connor, NAFA's U.S. Legislative Counsel. Additional information on the briefing, including the presentations and audio recording, is available at http://www.eesi.org/reducing-oil-dependence-through-energy-and-climate-policy-29-apr-2010.
DOT Posts New Information on CSA 2010
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has posted a new presentation, CSA 2010 for Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) Drivers. Comprehensive Safety Analysis 2010 (CSA 2010) is an initiative of the FMCSA and states to further reduce commercial vehicle (CMV) crashes, fatalities, and injuries. Fleet managers can review their fleet through the CSA 2010 Data Preview. With a DOT number and Personal Identification Number (PIN) provided by FMCSA, you can review your safety performance data by the CSA 2010 Behavior Analysis and Safety Improvement Categories (BASICs). (If you do not know or have forgotten your PIN, visit this link and select 'I want to request a copy of a document' (last selection on page) or call 1-800-832-5660 for assistance.)
