George Argueta could probably tell the best NAFA stories if he was sitting around a campfire. He has four decades of Association history under his belt expanding FMS days to the current Institute and Expo, the creation of publications, and positive contemporary changes to NAFA since it's establishment in 1957.
George's personal career history reads like that of the Association; ever-evolving and always steady. He still takes pride in the fleet industry with his current employment as Eastern Regional Sales Manager at Corporate Claims Management in West Babylon, N.Y.
Once a four-year Navy veteran, George served on aircraft carriers USS Hancock CVA 43 and USS Ranger CVA 61 as an aviation electronic technician. He went onto five years as reservations manager with United Airlines, 22 years as Automotive fleet manager with Fortune 100 Celanese Corporation, two years as New York office manager with Aaron Auto Transport, 12 years at Salex Corporation as Eastern Regional sales manager and President. Presently, and for the past nine years, George has been with Corporate Claims Management.
George’s contributions to NAFA on the chapter level include Treasurer, Vice Chair, and Chair of the New York chapter and, on the national level, Vice Chair National Board of Delegates, Secretary, 3rd Vice President, 2nd Vice President, and Chair of the National Affiliates Committee. George was the first Affiliate Trustee to sit on the Board of Trustees and was awarded Honorary Lifetime Membership in April 2001. He was elected to the Auto Fleet Hall of Fame in 2010. George is truly a symbol of NAFA membership.
George and his wife celebrated their 50th year wedding anniversary in 2010. They have two daughters and three grandchildren.
