For the past several years, "Remarketing Strategy" has been one of our most popular columns – first in Fleet Executive and then in FleetFOCUS where it was moved to be more timely. George Largay was one of the people at Manheim Consulting behind the creation of that column; while the column will continue, Largay retired from the company at the beginning of December. NAFA had the opportunity to speak with him in the weeks prior to get some final parting thoughts on a career that spanned more than 40 years in the automotive industry.
"I have been fortunate enough to have worked in many segments of the industry," said Largay. "For a manufacturer (Ford), for two fleet management companies, National Car Rental/Lend Lease (where I also got exposure to the car rental side of the industry) and Wheels, and 17 years on the remarketing side with industry leaders.
In an upcoming article in NAFA's Fleet Perspectives, you can hear Largay's comments on the diminishing role of the fleet manager, what he foresees will happen in remarketing within the next few years, and what was his favorite position he's held through his career.
NAFA wishes George and his wife many years of happiness in their retirement and we thank him for his work with the column over the years.
