Goill Awards
For the past 18 years, NAFA Fleet Management Association has been honoring fleet management professionals for innovative ideas that have increased productivity and created bottom-line cost savings with the Larry Goill Memorial Quality Fleet Management Idea Award. Named after the late NAFA Vice President for Canada, are co-sponsored by Bell Canada, the corporation for which Goill had worked. First presented in 1993, the award has since gone on to become one of the most recognized and most prestigious honors in the industry. The search is now on for ideas worthy of continuing the Goill Award's name. Visit http://www.nafa.org/goillawards for more information on the Goill Awards.
"I look forward to the Goill Awards presentation every year to see the new and creative ways the winners have solved tough fleet problems that many of us face," said NAFA President Christopher Amos, CAFM. "Sometimes the recipients make a valuable incremental improvement to industry best practices. Sometimes they shove old paradigms aside and come up with something completely new that gives the rest of us one of those 'aha' moments. In either case, they do credit to Larry Goill's memory by moving our profession forward as they selflessly share their quality fleet management ideas with their peers."
Sustainable Fleet Award
For many fleet managers, it's no longer enough to simply manage a fleet; doing what's right for the environment is paramount as well. Whether it's a corporation looking to bolster its environmental image or a municipality faced with government mandates to reduce pollution, we know you have important decisions to make. NAFA recognizes the challenges you face with the Sustainable Fleet Awards, presented annually to those whose business practices are providing for the sustainability of the environment for future generations.
Entries are judged on originality, innovativeness, and demonstrated accomplishment for reducing energy consumption. For more information, visit http://www.nafa.org/sustainablefleetawards.
Both awards will be presented during NAFA's 2011 Institute & Expo, April 9-12 in Charlotte, NC.
