Federal Cabinet Appointments


On May 18, 2011, members of Prime Minister Harper's Cabinet were sworn in at Rideau Hall.  The Prime Minister highlighted that the economy will remain the Government's number one priority. The new Cabinet showcases strong representation from regions all across Canada.

Cabinet appointments of importance to NAFA members are as follows:

Denis Lebel: Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec
(formerly Minister of State (Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec))

Christian Paradis: Minister of Industry and Minister of State (Agriculture)
(formerly Minister of Natural Resources)  

Steven Fletcher: Minister of State (Transport)
(formerly Minister of State (Democratic Reform))

Joe Oliver: Minister of Natural Resources

Peter Kent: Remains Minister of the Environment

Jim Flaherty: Remains Minister of Finance
