In Memoriam: Richard E. Neylan

Richard E. Neylan died in the peace of his home with family on August 27, 2011. He was District Sales Manager for Automotive Resources International (ARI) in Mount Laurel, NJ. He was a member of ARI’s elite Circle of Excellence for seventeen years and served on the Board of the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh NAFA Chapters.

Donna P. McDonough, Corporate Services - Executive Travel & Fleet for BNYMellon said of Neylan's passing: "Rich chaired the Safety Committee of the Greater Pittsburgh Chapter of NAFA from 1996 to 2009 and was a great friend to the Chapter and a good friend to many of us.  He will be missed."

A resident of Hockessin, DE and proud Delaware native, Neylan was born in 1949 grew up in Canby Park, and graduated from University of Delaware.

Neylan was a family man and loved being a father, and grandfather to his two grandchildren. He was a sports enthusiast, a loyal fan to Philadelphia Flyers, Eagles, and Phillies. His most enjoyable sports experience were the years he spent helping coach his son’s little league baseball teams and being the consummate hockey dad for his son’s traveling hockey years. He also loved the beach and their home on the Indian River Bay. He was looking forward to the birth of his third grandchild, Mackenzie, due in mid-October.

He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Kathy; children Richard Stephan Neylan of Wilmington, DE; Chris Chiappetta of Tampa, FL; Sherri O’Neill of Hockessin, DE; and grandchildren Emma and Ethan. Also surviving are his siblings, John J. Neylan III of Alexandria, VA; Jeanne E. Bolen of Charlestown, MD; and Mary Ellen Setting of Edgewater, MD.
