In other chapter news, the St. Louis Gateway Chapter meeting convened on December 14 at Forest Pharmaceuticals, Inc, St. Louis, MO. The topic at hand was "The Future Is Yesterday: Collision Avoidance Systems." Chapter Chair Cal Kretsinger, CAFM, General Executive, Fleet Fueling Services for Ameren Energy Fuels & Services said, "Dan Kania from Ranken Technical College gave a great presentation on collision avoidance systems." Kretsinger said Kania was a good speaker because he was "...presenting the information at the Fleet Manager level, without getting too technical."
"After the presentation we gathered in the parking lot where Bill Kugel from Volvo demonstrated their collision warning system. Driving a 2012 Volvo, he accelerated toward a barrier and the car stopped itself without the driver touching the brake," Kretsinger said, adding that the presentation was, "very impressive."
Unfortunately, no photographs were taken during the event.
