Deadlines To Submit For NAFA's 2012 Sustainable Fleet And Goill Awards Next Week

The deadline for entries to be considered for the 2012 Goill Awards is Wednesday, February 15, and the Sustainable Fleet Awards entry submissions period ends Friday, February 17.

Sponsored by NAFA and Bell Canada, the Goill Award honors individuals whose creative ideas improve fleet management by increasing productivity or create bottom-line cost savings. The award, named in honor of the late NAFA Vice President for Canada, has been won by some of the brightest minds in fleet management since its debut in 1993.

Similarly, NAFA's Sustainable Fleet Awards recognizes the challenges fleet managers face in setting up their organization’s sustainability plans and honors those who have implemented pioneering, innovative, and creative programs.

Applications for the Goill Award may be submitted by any individual who is directly employed in a vehicle management role by any company, utility, government agency, or not for profit organization in the United States or Canada. Eligibility is limited to persons who perform the usual and customary duties of motor vehicle fleet administration directly for the fleet operator and who are not engaged in the sale, rental, lease of, or services to motor vehicles. Applicants may submit up to three separate ideas for consideration. There is no entry fee and applicants do not need to be members of NAFA for consideration.

Applications for the Sustainable Fleet Award may be submitted by any individual who is directly employed in a vehicle management role by any company, utility, government agency, or not for profit organization in the United States or Canada. A NAFA Member can nominate themselves and/or their fleet team (entrants must be Members of NAFA to qualify). Non-members, suppliers, vendors, and others may nominate NAFA Members, but the Member being nominated must sign the entry form being submitted.

Entries are judged by a distinguished panel that includes representatives from OEM manufacturers, automotive publishing companies, leasing companies, and fleet managers from both private and public sectors. The criteria for judging includes originality, innovation, and demonstrated accomplishment for reducing energy consumption.

2012 Sustainable Fleet Award and Goill Award winners will be announced during a special ceremony at NAFA’s 2012 Institute & Expo. The annual conference will take place April 21-24 at the America’s Center in St. Louis, MO.
