Student Sponsorship Program: It’s Not Too Late For You To Help!

The Student Sponsorship Program is making a difference in the lives of fleet's future leaders. Special thanks are in order for those companies and chapters who have already pledged their support: Merchants Leasing, North Central Chapter, KMVS Fleet + Consulting. Manheim Canada, Midwest Chapter, NAFA Foundation, Inc., QEK, St. Louis Gateway Chapter, and Tri-State Chapter. An added thanks to those who have chosen the Masters Level of sponsorship: Adrian Steel, GE Capital, LeasePlan, Signature Graphics, Inc. and Sunshine State Chapter & Altec Industries.

The testimonials of students who have been a part of this program in past years speaks to the great value both students and sponsors have found in it. "Being involved with NAFA has opened my eyes to another world of automotive industry-related jobs, and the possibilities for me as a (near) grad of the Canadian Automotive Institute," said Chuck Reimer, a student from Georgian College. "The partnership between NAFA and CAI gave me the opportunity to attend training seminars in pursuit of the CAFM designation, and they were very helpful. From an education perspective, it was great to have someone there to break down the study material and answer any questions that I had."

Lisa Payne added, "From the first time I attended Kate Vigneau’s presentation on NAFA at Georgian College, I knew this was an industry I was interested in being a part of. After having the opportunity to attend the annual NAFA conference in Charlotte, NC and the Canadian NAFA conference in Toronto in 2011, I am looking forward to reconnecting with all the great people I’ve met at this year’s conference in St. Louis. I am currently working towards my CAFM designation, and being able to attend the advanced seminars in Toronto were very beneficial for my personal studying. The teachers were very knowledgeable and made the material easy to understand, and I know this experience will benefit me tremendously as I look forward to writing my first exams in April."

Many students beside Chuck and Lisa have attended the annual Institute and Expo (I&E) as a direct result of the generosity of Chapters and Affiliates. Without their help these wonderful experiences would not be possible. Please mark your calendar and earmark your budgets for the NAFA I&E in St. Louis, April 21-24, 2012. Please consider a 2012 sponsorship role and help a student begin the journey to success in the fleet management industry!

Whether it be as a chapter or as a company, please join in helping bring future fleet leaders to the leading educational and networking event of the year.
