Wisconsin Chapter Scores An Eagle With July 10 Golf Outing
The Annual Wisconsin Chapter Golf Outing on July 10 saw NAFA membership playing games (of many types), engaging in great networking, and enjoying food and drink on a sunny summer day. The meeting was presented by member Tom Krause.
Sheryl Grossman, GE Healthcare Fleet Operations Manager, said "The chapter always has a ring toss (game) for a charity." This year's charity beneficiary was the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight, whose mission is to fly WWII veterans and terminally ill veterans from other wars to see their memorials in Washington, DC.
"We had (Stars and Stripes Honor Flight representatives) attend our
dinner to say a few words and accept our check. All proceeds from the
toss is donated and then we passed the hat for additional funds,"
Grossman said. "We donated $900 to this group."
The charity also works closely with schools throughout Wisconsin to
ensure that the heroic stories of veterans are built into the curriculum
so that future generations will fully appreciate the sacrifices made on
their behalf.
"(This meeting) is a very successful outing, pulling in over 175 attendees. We work it hard, have fun, learn, and truly NAFA-network," Grossman said.
