NAFA Announces Winners Of 2013 Early-Bird Conference Registration
Richard Nowacki and Kathy Webster were the two lucky fleet professionals, chosen from the first 200 registrants of NAFA’s 2013 Institute & Expo, as winners of the Early-Bird Conference Registration Contest. Nowacki, Fleet & Safety Manager at U.S. Cellular (Chicago, IL), was awarded an Apple iPad2, while Webster, Logistics Manager at Spectra Energy (Chatham, Ontario, Canada), will have a one bedroom suite at the Trump Taj Mahal during I&E compliments of the Association.
Registration for NAFA’s annual conference, which will take place April 23-26 at the Atlantic City Convention Center in Atlantic City, NJ, is going strong. This is the first time in a decade the conference is being held in the northeast, a region home to many of the world’s largest fleets.
"We’re excited to be hosting the conference in NAFA’s backyard," said NAFA’s Executive Director, Phillip E. Russo, CAE. "NAFA is based in New Jersey and we’re proud to show off one of our State’s finest areas. We hope fleet professionals come to the conference to learn, to network, and to take enjoy the beautiful boardwalk, beach, and entertainment that Atlantic City offers. As a fan of Jersey music, I’m especially pleased to be able to share one of the State’s legendary rock and roll bands – Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes – with our members. The band will close out the opening night of the conference in style as part of our new awards night gala!"
NAFA’s 2013 Institute & Expo is regarded as the fleet industry event of the year. Fleet professionals from throughout the world attend to learn about the latest technologies, best practices, and industry trends from over 60 hours of fleet educational sessions. In addition, the conference features an Expo Floor with more than 250 vendors showing the latest products and services. The 2013 I&E includes powerful keynote presentations from Janet Froetscher, President & CEO of the National Safety Council; Derek Daly, former race car driver; and executives from the Detroit 3 (Ford, General Motors, and Chrysler).
"No other conference offers fleet professionals the opportunity to network with the stars of the industry," added Russo. "The I&E lets fleet managers share ideas and war stories with colleagues who manage similar fleets as they do. It’s a wonderful opportunity to find solutions to problems, see what others are doing, and network for future projects.
"Essentially, the I&E is several mini-conferences all in one," explained Russo. "It’s a safety conference and a sustainable fleet conference; there are powerful sessions on asset management from procurement to remarketing, and sessions to keep you informed on upcoming legislation that will affect fleets. There are educational sessions for everyone from the fleet manager who has been managing fleets for decades and the person who is just starting out. Most importantly, fleet managers will come away with plenty of cost savings solutions to bring back to the office. No other conference offers so much value for fleet managers!"
