Old Dominion Chapter Presents Donation To Special Olympics
Ordinarily, an event originating from 2012 is well past mentioning by April 2013, but this thought-provoking information stood out.
It began with the Old Dominion Chapter's 2012 golf outing and a subsequent $2,000 donation raised from it, which was later offered by Vice Chair Jodie L. Bentley (MBA, CAFS, Fleet Support Manager, Vehicle Service - City of Newport News) to Special Olympics Virginia. Arrangements were made toward the end of the year to present the check and Chapter Chair Jeffrey Jeter, Chesterfield County Government, Chesterfield, VA, had an opportunity to see who would benefit from the funds.
"I wanted to share the attached photo of Jeff (Jeter) with John Franklin Stephens ("Frank") and Roy Zeidman, Senior Vice President, Special Olympics Virginia at the recent Awards Luncheon," said Katie McGinty Botha, Senior Director, Development & Communications for Special Olympics Virginia. "I know Jeff got a chance to hear Frank speak, but I thought you both might enjoy Frank’s latest editorial (published by the Parenting blog) and a new PSA that features him in his place of work."
"We’re grateful for the support you showed us in 2012 and hope we can continue to work with you in 2013," McGinty Botha added.
Special thanks to Jodie Bentley, CAFS and Jeff Jeter for their contributions to this article.
