South Central Has Change In Mind

The NAFA South Central Chapter held their March meeting, a chapter workshop, at the Grapevine Convention Center on March 21.

The officers for the chapter are: Chris Syed, Chair; Bill Sterner, Vice Chair; Patty Palmer, Treasurer; and Jessica Harper, Secretary. First-time chapter attendees included: Al Levins, Thomas Neely, Jack van Buitenen, Chris Jones, Ken Latzsko, and Joel Mann.

The primary purpose of the meeting was to decide what topics would require necessary focus throughout 2013. Among the subjects raised were: challenges with fuel; EPA engines for large trucks and tractors; fleets growing in numbers and age and technicians are decreasing; handling maintenance and repair costs; technology, GPS Data mining, and monitoring; support staff; and lease vs. own.

The document that went out shortly after the meeting declared, "New and improved is our motto this year! We have some great surprises in store for our chapter."

Date and time for the next South Central Chapter meeting have not been determined yet, but members cannot wait to meet their fleet peer at NAFA's 2013 I&E in Atlantic City, NJ in one week.
