Pacific Southwest Chapter Meets To Discuss Alternative Fuel And Vehicles

The Pacific Southwest Chapter meeting in Downey, CA on April 11 began with the announcement that Tony Orta, Asset Manager/Fleet Management Services, Southern California Gas Co. would be replacing Rick Sikes as the Chapter Chair. Sikes will remain as a Vice President on the Chapter's Board.



Orta has set an ambitious agenda for himself and the Pacific Southwest Chapter, saying of his upcoming term, "As Chapter Chair, I plan on leveraging the input of the Members and Affiliates, along with pursuing the support of the NAFA leadership to advance the added value of the chapter and the impact of the association to positively impact fleet industry."



The topic for the day was alternative fuels, and representatives from Chrysler, Ford, GM, and Honda showed off their latest vehicles utilizing them. Vehicle upfitters also were in attendance to describe their vehicle fuel conversion services.

The presentations were given by Clay Okabayashi (GM), Robert Sanseverino (Ford), James Baldridge (Chrysler), and Annabel Cook (Honda). Henry Mak, of Southern California Gas Co., presented information regarding CNG refueling and fueling infrastructure.
