In Memoriam: Lynn A. Evans (1954-2013)

NAFA learned of the unexpected passing of NAFA Member Lynn A. Evans on Tuesday, July 9. She was 58.

The news came as a sudden shock to the membership. Along with being a NAFA Member, Evans was the current President of the Florida Association of Governmental Fleet Administrators (FLAGFA), a Center for Professional Fleet Certification (CPFC) partner.

Evans was a 25-year employee of Collier County Government, Naples, FL, and a highly valued and respected member of their Fleet Management Department. She was a longtime proponent for the value of fleet and for the fleet industry as a whole.

Known for her gregarious personality, Evans always went out of her way to make everyone welcome at industry events. In a statement issued by Collier County Fleet Management Director Dan Croft and City of Coral Springs Fleet Services Assistant Vicki DuVal, Evans, "...was one of those people who could make you work and think it was ‘fun.'"

The statement continued, "She was an organizer and manager with a strong work ethic that could always get the job done, one who understood the latest and greatest in technology (and would help you with it), an ‘instigator’ who could bring the gift of laughter to any situation, and a ‘friend’ in the truest sense of the word. She was one who, just by seeing her in action, could make you realize that, ‘if you could dream it, you could do it.’"

Family will accept visitors this afternoon, Monday July 15, at Fuller Funeral Home, 4735 Tamiami Trail East, Naples, FL, 34112, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. This will be followed immediately by a memorial service at 5:30 p.m. at the same location. Those unable to attend may send their condolences to her family in care of Mr. Roger Evans, 1095 Jardin Drive, Naples, FL, 34104.
