NAFA's Southern Regional Conference A Big Success
On October 13-15, NAFA's Alabama Chapter held their seventh annual
Southern Regional Conference at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Orange
Beach, AL. Alabama Chapter Chair Sandy G. Leonard said the conference was a success. "We had great attendance...and had very positive feedback."
The three-day gathering started on Sunday with a Meet and Greet
networking opportunity sponsored by PalFleet Truck Equipment Company.
This gave attendees an opportunity to wind down after their travels and
check-ins.
On day two, NAFA Deputy Director
Patrick McCarren offered an overview of NAFA's many benefits and services. Dan Shive from LeasePlan USA presented a discussion on the perils of distracted driving. Angie Kopec from Bradford Health tipped attendees to the signs of substance abuse in your staff -- a "must-know" for any fleet manager assigning vehicles to drivers. T.J. Tennant from Bridgestone covered the importance tire safety and oversight.
Ron Day's presentation on truck specification kicked off day three.
Other presenters included Michael Srog and Kevin Pipkin from Premaco,
and Rex Beck and Darren Bridges from Cummins.
All told, the conference was a major success. With around 50 attendees, a
majority being fleet managers, and lots of volunteer participation the
Southern Regional Conference once again proved why it is such a popular
draw year after year.
