Former NAFA President Milton R. Reid Retires

Former NAFA President Milton R. Reid has officially retired as General Services Director, City of Gainesville, FL. His replacement is Charles "Bill" Malcolm, who used to work for the State of Georgia and City of Atlanta.

Reid graduated with a BSc. in Mechanical Engineering from Howard University in Washington, DC. He subsequently worked for General Electric Company designing Diesel Electric Locomotives; Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI; ALCOA; and Occidental Mining Operations in Jamaica and Florida. He joined the City of Gainesville, FL in 1984 as their Fleet Manager and later became the General Services Director.

Reid served as the Chair of the Florida Association of Governmental Fleet Administrators and as NAFA President in 2003-2005. He has also served as Vice Chair, Senior Vice Chair, Immediate Past President, and Regional Trustee for NAFA, as well as having been the Reporting Officer for the National Public Safety Group, the I&E Curriculum Committee, and the I&E Arrangements Committee.

He and his wife Lisa have six sons and five grandchildren.
