NAFA Membership Benefits You: Focus On Safety

The safety of your organization’s employees is paramount and fleet plays a big part of that. Knowing that on average, 20 percent of drivers will be involved in a crash or other incident in any given year, is more than enough to fuel the desire to reduce company risk, effectively manage driver safety, and seek out the latest strategies, technologies, and practices to create a best-in-class safety program for your drivers and fleet program.

NAFA Is Keeping You Informed With Safety Issues!

1. Safety was a main focus at NAFA’s 2013 I&E, with sessions focusing on safety programs and a powerful and compelling final Keynote Speech from Janet Froetscher, President and CEO of the National Safety Council.

2. Once again, safety is a main focus of the 2014 I&E in Minneapolis. Courses include:
3. A new column called "Safety First" – provided by the National Safety Council (NSC) – will run in each issue of NAFA’s FLEETSolutions magazine. The first column, which takes a look at the effect of distracted driving, will appear in the January/February 2014 issue of the publication.

4. NAFA’s Fleet Safety Advisory Council is currently in the middle of creating a one-stop-shop for useful fleet safety information for our members, including a discussion forum and educational tools to use at chapter meetings.

5. Each year, NAFA endorses the Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS) national Drive Safely Work Week (DSWW) campaign. The campaign promotes safe-driving education and awareness materials for all employees and their families.
